In light of COVID-19 BSEAODS are currently working to bring you an update to this page. We thank you for your ongoing support at this time.
It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel the Annie production, which was originally due to be staged at the Theatre Royal in May.
We have held hope that we would be able to bring this production to you later in the year. Unfortunately, the Theatre Royal has had to decide it will not be able to welcome audiences before 2021, while Social Distancing measures are still required.
Along with a number of other considerations, this has led us to the unavoidable conclusion that we will not be able to showcase the hard work by our cast, crew and production team. It is with their safety and the continued viability of the Company in mind, that we have come to this decision.
We would especially like to thank everyone involved in this show for their patience and understanding throughout the last few months. It would have been fantastic theatre, and we very much look forward to being able to present all that talent in future productions!
We have the Gershwin spectacle ‘Crazy for You’ tentatively planned for next spring and we will keep monitoring the situation, before making a final confirmation. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for further announcements.
We look forward to seeing everyone back on the stage as soon as it is achievable in a safe and reasonable way. And we can’t wait to bring musical theatre back to the town that we have entertained for over a century.
You can still visit our ANNIE page for details of the cast and production team that would have been. If you feel you could support us by becoming a friend of the society please do get in touch at: email@example.com. We have made a donation of £1,000 to the Theatre Royal BSE to show our support and you can donate to their Show Will Go On Appeal here.
Best wishes and stay safe!
